Values
Truth -We value truth and believe it most perfectly exists in the person and work of Jesus Christ the living Word of God. Therefore, while truth is found in scripture, reason, tradition and experience, we will always equate seeking and knowing truth with seeking and knowing God through the sacrifice of Christ as we believe that truth is a person not a doctrine.
People -We value people, rich and poor, young and old, black and white, as we believe this is in keeping with the priorities of Jesus. Therefore, we will focus our ministry on individuals, families, our community and world, instead of programs to run and facilities to maintain. We will further-more focus on the inner transformation of people and believe that external remodeling is superficial at best and doesn’t last.
Service -We value service and believe that our faith manifesting itself in action is absolutely essential for everyone who claims to believe in and follow God. Therefore, we will serve our neighbors and our community in an effort to earn the right to share Christ, as we believe that in order for people to hear Christ in us they must first see Christ in us.
Multiplication -We value multiplication as we believe healthy things do not simply add to themselves but multiply themselves as well. Therefore, we will seek to multiply our lives and skills, our groups and teams and our church so that more people are involved and more ministry is taking place. While we desire excellence in all things, we believe that multiplying people and ministries is the only reason to temporarily sacrifice quality.
Collaboration -We value collaboration and the creation that comes from joining our lives together with others and God as we believe that good times are better and bad times become bearable when we experience true community. Therefore we will work together with others in our church and community to make a difference by building God’s Kingdom over our kingdom and sharing the deep love of Christ.
